We are now at the beginning of the twenty-first century; although an
interchange exists between new technologies (cinema and audiovisual)
and the live performance/show, no real means of interlacing the two
disciplines has yet been found.
The stage and the cinema must co-exist, stealing from one another,
feeding off reciprocal experiences to pinpoint the expression of a
gesture, word, sensation, and to occupy a space with the potential for
new dimensions.
This research will create strong synergy between cinema directors and
players, whether actors or dancers, so that these identities
representing separate and differing concepts of the artistic event may
learn to work together to understand the corporal aspect of cinema from
the gesture on and filmed images from the physical value of a stage
action. By means of this profound sharing of roles, the young director
will achieve understanding of theatrical ritual and the actors will
learn to interpret their own gestures as field of action for the camera.
