Movement a sequence of gestures is the language in which the body expresses itself. Unique
gestures free from external conditioning, constantly hovering over the
fluctuating borderline between the real physical gesture and the
choreographic gesture; creating, inventing, denying and then
reconstructing them, simply observing them Ð that is the aim of this
research on the interactions between the dancing body and space, real
and virtual, to identify a fil rouge between the instinctiveness and
naturalness of the human gesture and the codes imposed by digital
technologies.
Workshop activities will examine the influence that outside space Ð
meaning both the urban dimension and the virtual world Ð has on
gestural heritage common to the art form of dancing. Through
workshops, work in progress, performances and the production of new
shows, the research sets out to analyse the coincidences and contrasts
in body gestures by means of the most recent results of contemporary
European dance.
